Xia Wen-Jie:

>> Xia Wen-Jie: Chinese Banhu master, soloist of Melody of Dragon, graduated from the school of Shanghai Traditional Music Orchestra in 1962. Later he joined the Shanghai Opera House as principal soloist on the banhu, erhu and gaohu as well as becoming concertmaster of its National Instruments Orchestra. Currently he also serves as concertmaster and artistic director of Chinese Music Ensemble of NY.

Since moving to the United States, he has performed and lectured throughout the country, especially in East Coast of US. He has performed at the Lincoln Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Carnegie Hall,Merkin Concert Hall, Columbia University, Peabody University with different ensembles in New York City.
